Gay gene?

Defenders and promoters of homosexuality try to cover up the scientifically documented serious promiscuity, inability to maintain sexual fidelity, partner abuse and psychological and medical illnesses associated with the lifestyle. Also, they tell persons with same-sex attractions (SSA) that “It’s genetic,” “You were born that way,” or worse “God made you gay.”

If homosexuality were genetically predetermined, then identical twins would virtually always have the same sexual orientation. Francis S. Collins, MD, PhD, the Director of National Human Genome Research Institute, NIH, has stated that the likelihood that the identical twin of a homosexual male will also be homosexual is about 20 per cent, indicating that whatever genes are involved represent predispositions, not predeterminations.

Homosexuality is an issue that has often been mishandled by therapists due to misinformation on the topic. Although not supported by the research, many therapists believe that homosexuality is solely biological in nature, and therefore unchangeable. Yet despite ongoing efforts, researchers have not discovered a biological basis for same-sex attractions. In fact, many researchers hypothesize that a homosexual orientation stems from a combination of biological and environmental factors. For example, when asked if homosexuality was rooted solely in biology, gay gene researcher, Dean Hamer, replied, “Absolutely not.

Dr. Alan Sanders with the Evanston Northwestern Healthcare Research Institute, who is conducting a study that seeks to discover if there’s a genetic origin to homosexuality. (Sanders’ apparently began his project in 2005, according to a previous report from NARTH.)

Working with a federal grant, Sanders is studying 1,000 pairs of gay brothers as well as straight brothers and parents. He suspects there isn’t one so-called “gay gene,” but several genes that interact with non-genetic factors. “If there’s one gene that makes a sizable contribution, we have a pretty good chance” of finding it.

Sadly, world gives biological reasons and sociological reasons to support this perversion. I am just reminded what Aldous Huxley said in his book “Ends and Means”, that he wants this world not to have meaning so that it frees him to his sexual and political pursuits.

“I had motives for not wanting the world to have a meaning; consequently assumed that it had none, and was able without any difficulty to find satisfying reasons for this assumption. The philosopher who finds no meaning in the world is not concerned exclusively with a problem in metaphysics, he is also concerned to prove that there is no valid reason why he personally should not do as he wants to do, or why his friends should not seize political power and govern in the way that they find most advantegous to themselves… For myself, the philosophy of meaningless was essentially an instrument of liberation, sexual and political.”

  1. Just a thought to ponder about.
I have heard articles where they say that even murder and theft can have genetic influences.
Yet we have testimonies of Christ touching murderers and theives.
If at all there is a genetic influence, could it be that this is somehow reversed or ‘healed’ at the new birth? Could this defect have occured due to sin and the fall of man?
Jesus can heal us of every sin and make us more like HIM. In the light of His word I know I am sinner, whatever the reason be, genetic, social, spiritual, etc. If I cry out to God, He can deliver me and heal me in that area.
Sometimes we might even need to take medicines or counselling help and God can work through all that as we trust and call out to HIM.

    - Are you saying that homosexuality is a perversion? Even if the biological reasons or sociological reasons don’t validate it or cannot explain it, why do you think you can call it a perversion? What gives you the authority, the ‘holier than thou’ attitude to claim that you are right and the opposite is not?
Think before using such strong words. Some might think of you as a pervert.
